Radial draw tube bender build

If you’re planning on building a race car chassis, roll cages or motorcycle frames, you’ll need a proper radial draw tube bender.

I have started purchasing the dies I’ll need for bike projects, but you need the bender itself. Of course, you can purchase a bender frame, but I decided to build one as I had all the necessary tooling and steel available.

This bender uses Pro-Tools dies, and is based on their bender design built around a hydraulic bottle jack to provide the muscle.

The plans were sourced from Nigel at Engineered to Slide, and he shows the bender in this blog post.  You can buy a copy of his plans in his store.

I’ve modified the drawings to suit the jack I bought and the material I had on hand.  If there is enough interest (let me know via the contact form), I will draw mine up and post the plans here.
