I’ve snuck out into the shop to lace up the rear wheel I have for this bike.
As you can see, I have a very high-tech truing stand. Made from some inch square tube and some skateboard wheel bearings. Clinometer app on my phone to make sure the axle was level by adjusting the whole stand in my vice.
Also very useful is the factory service manual which tells me how to lace the wheel, and how to set the hub offset correctly. Couple of straight edge rulers for measurements. A height gauge (you could substitute a piece of wire held in a clamp).
Very useful is a spoke wrench set. This is a mini torque wrench to help ensure the spoke are done up to the correct tension. The other end of the wrench is simply used to remove spoke nipples. The set of attachments under the wrench are all different sizes/shapes to fit different spokes.
If anyone wants any specific details about lacing wheels just let me know. I am no expert here, but I have taught myself enough to be comfortable lacing my own wheels.
