Can I build a custom motorcycle?
….of course you can.
Is it “easy”?
No.
Is it “cheap” – compared to paying someone to do it for me?
Nope.
Can I learn it “fast” and set up a custom bike shop?
Negative.
Are there riches to be made customising motorcycles?
Not for us mere mortals. Possibly only for the top 1%.
Will I be a world-famous custom bike internet sensation?
Unlikely, but it could happen.
Will I learn heaps of new skills?
Will I meet other awesome people who love customising their bikes?
Can I build myself a totally unique ride?
Will I have fun?
Hell YES!
Do you still want to come along “for the ride”?
No? Ok, thanks for checking us out, you can hit that “Back” button on your browser now.

Ha. You’re still here 🙂
You want to make your bike different from the hordes.
But maybe you’re stuck.
Or don’t know where to start.
Or don’t know what to do next.
Maybe you started but hit a wall.
No problem. I can help you.
Who am I?
My name is Matt, and I’ve been riding motorcycles since my teens. That was after I graduated from skateboarding and heavy metal as a kid growing up in the 80’s.
I started Krank Engineering here in Melbourne, Australia, back in 2012 to help others with their bike builds with machining, fabrication and welding services out of my shop.
I’ve got a degree in mechanical engineering and have trained in TIG welding.
I’m also a qualified trainer, and have conducted technical workshop training for motorcycle enthusiasts in small groups.
The big problem
In these training schools, I met lots of people hungry for information.
They all wanted to work on their bike themselves, they just needed some help to get there.
And, lots of detail. I’m lucky, I have a technical education and I’ve worked my whole career with machinery.
But most of my students didn’t have this sort of education.
This stuff isn’t hard to understand. But wasting hours scouring through YouTube videos or forums for a certain detail is often fruitless. Sometimes, a focussed, specific and comprehensive article or lesson is required.
I loved helping people in the workshops. But in a workshop, I can only reach ten people.
It’s pretty hard to scale up unless we harness the internet.
Rather than having to spend thousands of dollars at a commercial shop to build the bike you want, I can teach you to do as much or as little as you want.
I’ve been writing articles, and shooting videos for YouTube and my premium training courses for a while now.
I can help you get moving.
